Well, the last time I tried this, I made it into a long dissertation! So I’ll try again.
I was born in Asheville, NC, USA. I graduated high school in 1976; yes, that makes me 60 years old! I graduated from Western Carolina University with a major in Financial Accounting. I went to WCU because it was in the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains.
My career was in Healthcare - Financial Administration. I was married in 1980 while in Asheville. We soon made our home in Richmond, Virginia. The marriage ended tragically in a divorce.
I remarried in 1987 and my husband and I transferred to Greenville, SC where we still reside. I left my last hospital as a Controller to have a baby. Robert Andrew. That was in 1995 (that was 24 years ago)! I had been in healthcare for 22 years.
After my son turned 7, I went back to work as a controller of two small businesses. That was a very rewarding experience. But after 5 years my father became ill and once again I had to stop working.
Growing up in Asheville, I began riding horses and taking riding lessons at the Venable Academy of Riding in Fletcher, NC.
I rode for many years and after too many “meetings” with the dirt, (accidents) my riding had to abruptly end. I filed for disability in 2010 and haven’t had a job outside of home since then. My passion was dressage.
Today is February 15, 2019 and after taking a break for about a year, I’ve decided to return to my blog page where I reminisce and write about interesting things happening in the world today.
I hope you’ll follow my blog and give me your take on today’s “political arena”, or things that have made a profound impact on/in your life. Come join me “for a trip around the world”.
